Even if you aren’t a diehard fan, you know that fall means football in Texas. The University of Texas football program dates back to 1893; what would come to be called Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium opened in 1924. The uniforms, rules, rivalries and DKR itself have changed much over the years. Here, we’ve collected some souvenir programs and photos from the collections of the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History and the H.J. Lutcher Stark Center for Physical Culture and Sports to look back at this part of Longhorn history.
