The video game that I've without a doubt sunk the most hours into was Halo 3. Growing up, Halo was the best game. From the campaign, to multiplayer, to forge and custom games, Halo 3 had it all! I was able to create countless memories with my friends and family over the years playing Halo.

I'm an old school gamer (Coleco Vision, circa 1984) so I tend toward classics like Q*bert or Donkey Kong even today. Most recently, I've been playing Papers, Please (Nicolas Pope), as inspiration for my JapanLab team's game The Censor's Desk, and also Dot's Home (lead writer Evan Narcisse).

I'm a bit obsessed with Assassin's Creed: Mirage, set in medieval Baghdad. The power of digital games to bring the sights, sounds, textures, and humanity of past lives immersively into the present is unparalleled, and I'd love to see historians embrace gaming as part of teaching and scholarship.

I don't play as many video games anymore, but as a kid I had a Nintendo DS and loved to play Cooking Mama. I spent hours trying to master the different recipes and completing the challenges. I also loved to play Animal Crossing, making friends in my town and fishing for the most unique fish.

Probably Mortal Combat because of the great times I shared with my brother imitating fight moves after either or us delivered a knock-out blow.

I'm only good at the original 1985 Nintendo Super Mario Bros!
